All submitted talks will be presented in 20 minute sessions, to include both the talk and any questions that follow. We advise speakers to aim to present for about 15 minutes. There is a "traffic light" timing system at the venue to help presenters keep to time. If speakers wish to be signalled to stop after a time other than 15 minutes they should arrange this with the relevant session chair prior to presenting.
Preparation and upload
To ensure the smooth running of the oral sessions, presenters are requested not to use their own laptops for presentations. Instead, presentations should be either emailed ahead of time, or uploaded at the conference venue.
We are able to accept the following file formats for presentation:
- powerpoint (.ppt, .pptx)
- keynote (…)
- acrobat (.pdf)
if you intend to present audio or video, please use broadly compatible codecs where possible (here is a list for windows, and here is one for Mac OS).
Emailing your talk
If you wish to email your talk, please send it to firstname.lastname@example.org and copy it to D.Blackie@rcpe.ac.uk. The subject of your email should be AMLaP-DAY-TIME, with time in the 24-hr format to avoid ambiguity, please: e.g., AMLaP-THU-10:30.
Emailed talks will not be accepted after Monday September 1.
Bringing your talk to the venue
If you haven't emailed your talk, please bring it on a USB stick to the venue, and ensure that it has been uploaded well before the session in which you are presenting. You may also wish to ensure that you have an online backup, e.g., in email to yourself, or on dropbox.
Please note (again) that it will not be possible to use your own laptop to present from.
Posters should be a maximum size of A0 (841 x 1189 mm; 33.1 x 46.8 in) and should be prepared in portrait format (shorter edge horizontal). Please keep font sizes large to ensure maximum legibility.
We will provide poster boards and the means to attach posters to the boards. Please ensure that your poster is displayed on the board as indicated in the programme (note that numbers may have changed since the draft programme appeared online).
If there is a last-minute disaster, there is a prontaprint near the conference venue at 15a Howe Street (no endorsement implied).
