LEL was well represented last month at the 17th International Conference on English Historical Linguistics...

LEL was well represented at the 17th International Conference on English Historical Linguistics in Zürich. Linda van Bergen gave the closing plenary lecture on the correct classification of Old English uton, while Roger Lass (Honorary Fellow), Meg Laing and Rhona Alcorn introduced A Corpus of Narrative Etymologies, a large project currently underway at the Institute for Historical Dialectology. Current PhD student Sara Myers and former postgraduate students Takeshi Koike and Penny Thompson also featured on the programme.
