Biography

I studied Psychology at the University of Amsterdam (BA Cum Laude, MA Cum Laude), with a focus on cognitive neuroscience and clinical neuropsychology. I became a psycholinguist (language psychologist) during my PhD at the University of Amsterdam (2007 PhD Cum Laude in Psychology). After spending some time in the USA (Tufts University & Harvard/MGH Martinos  Center for Biomedical Imaging) for post-doctoral research, I became a staff scientist at the Basque Center on Cognition, Brain and Language in the Basque Country (Spain) before joining the University of Edinburgh in 2012.
