Biography
Dr Chrisman joined the department in August 2006 after finishing his PhD and MA at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his BA at Rice University. His research is primarily in ethical theory, philosophy of language, and epistemology. He is also interested in action theory, political philosophy, deontic logic and the ethics of climate change. He is currently working on a book on the meaning of 'ought' which seeks to improve on his previous work in meta-ethics by integrating it with new work on model-theoretic approaches to the semantics of modals.
