Experiment Booths
Appleton Tower - Perception Laboratory
- Four sound-deadened booths for running perceptual and psycholinguistics experiments. Each booth has a PC with E-Prime software installed and a serial response box fitted. The booths can also be used for other computer based experiments, or simply pen and paper responses to audio stimuli.
- Available for use by:All PPLS staff and postgraduates. Undergraduates involved in PPLS coursework or honours dissertation.
- Charges: Free for undergraduate use, free for postgraduate use. Charges apply to funded research projects. Free for unfunded pilot studies.

- Access for students requiring to use the lab in connection with their course work is initiated by the student’s supervisor, who should contact Ken Vogel
- Staff requiring access should contact Ken Vogel.

Informatics Forum
- Eight sound-deadened booths for running perceptual and psycholinguistic experiments. Each booth is equipped with a dual-boot (Windows and MacOS) Mac-mini and a serial response box. There are also dual action gamepads, microphones, headphones and chinrests available. E-Prime software is available for developing and running experiments.
- Available for use by: all PPLS staff and postgraduates, with appropriate induction/training
- Charges: usually free to postgraduates. Charges apply to funded research projects

Admirals Lab - Staff (Psychology Building)
- Eight cubicles equipped for computer-based experimental work. Software includes SPSS and E-Prime, as well as usual Office software including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Available for use by: PPLS staff and PhD students
