Information for Incoming Students 2011/2012
Visiting the University
We believe that it is important for students to have the opportunity to visit the University before commencing their studies and because we know that not everyone can visit on the same day, we offer a range of opportunities to visit the University throughout the year. Tours are available to all students - PG and UG and Home, EU and International students.
When you book a tour, give us the date and we will try to make an appointment for you to meet with your prospective programme director / supervisor and the student representative of your programme, to get a feel of being a student at the University of Edinburgh.
Congratulations, you have an offer!
Congratulations on receiving your offer to study.
General Information for new students to the University of Edinburgh can be found on the University New Students page.
The PPLS Graduate School will be holding individual programme induction sessions during Freshers Week (beginning 12 September 2011) where you will be able to meet others on your programme and receive information about the degree programme you will follow while you study in Edinburgh. Incoming students should note that they DO NOT need to attend each and every Health & Safety Induction tour of either the Dugald Stewart Building or 7 George Square, but only attend the tour for which they have confirmed with the PG Office.
If you have not responded to the email (Philosophy Tours - Psychology Tours - LEL Tours) asking for confirmation of tour days and times, then please email the PPLS PGO as soon as possible.
